Overview
This four screen video artwork converts marine traffic vessel data into an animated watercolour of Sydney Harbour. Using a year’s worth of AIS data, we transformed each vessel’s movement into watercolour trails and created a timelapse that shows the dynamic changes of the Harbour over 365 days.

Additional closeup views highlight the complexity and diversity of the commercial, operational, passenger and recreational vessels, with each type represented by a different colour.
