Cardboard Chippendale

Overview
Lightwell created a cardboard version of Sydney’s inner-city suburb of Chippendale for the BEAMS Art Festival. 

Presented as a virtual environment using Google Cardboard VR headsets, festivalgoers were able to experience a 360-degree hand-animated world, filled with moving cardboard animals and architecture.

This project began life in the analog world as cut cardboard boxes. The pieces were then developed as an animated environment in Unity 3D, creating an interactive public art project that took visitors out of this reality and into a life-size cardboard diorama!
