Overview
In collaboration with Convergence, MTH Studio and Indigo Shire Council, Lightwell produced a multi-screen immersive projection and self-guided website for the Beechworth Historic Courthouse.
The three-wall projection focuses on four key Ned Kelly trials, telling the story of the Kelly outbreak in the context of the frontier environment, and explaining the function and history of the Courthouse. Quotes from individual people involved in these events, read by a range of voice actors, are interspersed throughout the production, with a main narrator leading visitors through the story.
Our team brought archival images and illustrations to life through animation and filmed contemporary footage of the landscapes where these events took place. An immersive multi-channel audio experience also accompanied the production.
In addition, our team produced an accompanying Beechworth Courthouse Kelly Trials website, allowing visitors to explore an illustrated map of the Beechworth Historic Precinct, find related resources and other places to visit.
The two productions form part of the newly redeveloped exhibition and tour inside the Beechworth Historic Courthouse.
